What it was
Figma Desktop began life as a simple Electron wrapper. I led product on the desktop team that elevated it into a feature-rich experience.
What I did
We overhauled how tabs worked, adding emoji and intelligent indicators, added push notification support, a standalone menu bar activity feed, and a dedicated new tab page. I also led product on the desktop UI3 updates.
What happened
We grew the desktop app to millions of users across macOS, Windows, and then ChromeOS, with continued growth and extremely positive feedback from users.
